MODELING/SCULPTURE
We will seek to experience the subtlety of the contraction and expansion of a form.
The work will always be focused on the volume of a material. How does this volume alternate between contraction and expansion? The passage between these two movements constitutes an archetype present everywhere around us. The main research approach of these workshops is to understand and try to master this gesture in order to make the volume “alive”. The workshop will be articulated between a work in the non-figurative (an emotion or a color for example) and a work in the figurative (representative sculpture).
L’atelier se déroule de septembre à juin. Le règlement peut être effectué trimestriellement sur demande. Engagement à l’année.

Jean bacourt
Jean Bacourt began his apprenticeship in stone cutting in 1994. He was received by fellow stonemasons in 2003. He mainly works on the restoration of religious and ancient buildings. In 2015 he became a student at Foyer Michaël. There he discovered a new artistic approach to shapes and volumes. For three years now, he has been leading various courses and workshops at Foyer Michaël : stone sculpture, modeling and wood sculpture. He is also the "project manager" of several sites on the spot. He recently managed the eco-construction of a building housing a painting workshop, a classroom and a reception desk.
